Special Events

At Brookhaven Country Preschool, we believe that learning flourishes within a strong, connected community. Throughout the school year, we host a variety of special events for our children - many of which bring families together. From seasonal celebrations and classroom gatherings to our cherished graduation ceremony, these experiences create lasting memories, strengthen our school community, and gives families a meaningful way to share their child's early learning journey.

Pumpkin Day

Each fall, Brookhaven Country Preschool celebrates the season with a beloved tradition - Pumpkin Day! Our students and their families are invited to join us for a fun-filled day of autumn activities. The children start by enjoying a festive hayride around the school grounds, followed by a visit to our very own "pumpkin patch", where each child can choose a pumpkin to take home.

The children and their families enjoy a variety of seasonal games, creative crafts and tasty snacks. Pumpkin Day is a joyful day and a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, celebrate the fall season, and make lasting memories, which is the perfect way to celebrate fall at Brookhaven Country Preschool.

Trunk or Treat

In October 2025, Brookhaven Country Preschool hosted its first ever Trunk or Treat - a fun and festive celebration that brought our preschool community together for some Halloween excitement!. Families and staff transformed their cars into creative themed displays, while children and adults dressed up in costumes. Everyone enjoyed the treats, seasonal activities, laughter and joyful Halloween spirit.

The Trunk or Treat event fostered community connection, imagination, and plenty of smiles. It was such a wonderful and successful way to celebrate Halloween together that we plan to make it a yearly tradition here at Brookhaven!

Visits From Local Heroes

Every year, Brookhaven Country Preschool is honored to welcome members of the Yaphank fire department and local police department to visit with our students. These special visits give children the opportunity to meet real community helpers, explore safety topics in a fun and engaging way, and even see the fire trucks and a police vehicle up close!

Our local heroes take time to talk with the children about safety, helping others, and the important roles they play in our community These annual visits are always a highlight of the year - sparking curiosity, building trust, and inspiring young learners to appreciate the everyday heroes who help keep us safe.

Spring Art Show

Brookhaven Country Preschool began a new annual tradition of hosting a Spring Art Show and Family Day in May. This is a joyful celebration of creativity, imagination, family, and springtime fun. Each child in our preschool works hard to create a special project to be displayed at this event. It gives them the opportunity to proudly share their hard work with family and friends. In addition to the art showcase, families enjoy games, crafts, and other hands-on activities that makes the day extra memorable.

It is a wonderful way to celebrate our student's artistic skills, enjoy time together as a school, and welcome the spring season as a community.

Graduation

Each June, Brookhaven Country Preschool proudly celebrates its Pre-K graduates with a fun and memorable graduation ceremony. This cherished tradition marks not only the end of the school year, but also the completion of their preschool journey. It’s a special time to honor each child’s growth, achievements, and readiness for the next step in their learning adventure—kindergarten.

Our Preschool class also celebrates the school year with a Moving Up Ceremony. This joyful event marks an exciting milestone, recognizing growth, friendships, and all the wonderful learning experiences from the year. These little learners are ready to take their next big step into Pre-K!

Families join us for both ceremonies as we share smiles, songs, and heartfelt memories—celebrating how far our little learners have come.
